How to Best BSOS (Bright Shiny Object Syndrome)

As a sales coach, NLP practitioner, I have recognized how common and widespread this impediment is for everyone (and yes, me too). Whether you call it focus inconsistency or BSOS, it must be overcome to reach your desired outcomes. I believe the key is getting back to basics. Here is what I have learned about how to cure BSOS.
Whether you meditate, take quiet time, or journal before you start your day, it is all about HOW you start your day. Take a few minutes somewhere in your day to sit quietly, to BE, and express gratitude for who you are and where you are at that moment in time. It will help you to stay in the moment as you take action and not drift into BSOS.
Before we leap out of bed or pick up the phone are significant and a big clue as to our real focus. Ask yourself a few key questions before you start your day: What three activities must I do today to move me closer to my goals/dreams/desires? What actions can I do to generate income? What will further the grand plan? Then focus ONLY on those and nothing else. We get distracted not because we are distracted by our smartphones, the internet, or television advertisements, but rather because we give them our focus. Learn how to redirect yourself.
Imagine yourself in the future. Your goals accomplished; your dreams fulfilled. You have reached the top of your ultimate success ladder. You are now busier than ever. In fact, with success comes more success, so this means more people, more business and more distractions.
Commitment to Self-Mastery and beat BSOS as follows:
Learn to say, “No” to that which doesn’t move you closer to your goals/dreams/desires. You can always say, “I am focused on this project now.”
If you say, “Yes,” mean it. Remember, your word is your bond, your promise, so follow it with action.
Pause for your ‘Beingness’ first before you jump into action. You are a human BEING first; the DOING is second.
Turn your commitments into mastery by giving them your full focus.
Develop routines for consistency so that when successful outcomes keep happening to you, you can handle them effectively.
Ask yourself a few key questions before you start your day: What three activities must I do today to move me closer to my goals/dreams/desires? What actions can I do to generate income? What will further the grand plan?
Give gratitude in the morning, during the day and before you go to sleep at night. Develop an awareness of your “wins”. Sleeping with your abundance is sweet.
